MODULOR

Calembour, deriving from a new technique that combines tufting directly onto a thin handloom rug. Graphically, it is the visual transition of virtually incompatible geometric elements, which instead mutate and merge with each other into a continuous and harmonious texture.

CARE AND MAINTAINANCE

In the first few weeks of use, it is normal for new rugs to shed some fibers or fluff left over from production. Gently brush the surface with a soft broom or vacuum in the direction of the pile, repeating weekly until shedding subsides. Avoid vacuum cleaners with rotating brushes, and never pull loose threads—simply trim them at the surface level.

To maintain an even appearance, rotate the rug 2–3 times per year. Liquid stains should be blotted immediately with paper towels or a clean white cloth; solid stains should be carefully scraped off with the edge of a knife or spoon.

Stain removal guidelines:

  • Always clean from the edges toward the center to prevent spreading.

  • Test cleaning products on a small, hidden area first.

  • Remove solid residues before cleaning.

  • Use only a small amount of mild detergent diluted in warm water, avoiding over-wetting the fibers.

For specific stains:

  • Blood: remove with hydrogen peroxide.

  • Urine, excrement, chewing gum, lipstick: dry-clean using laundry solvents.

  • Nail polish or synthetic paints: use acetone or thinner, then a dry-cleaning detergent.

  • Cigarette burns: scrape gently with a hard surface, then brush and vacuum.
